Heart Attack

A heart attack, also known as myocardial infarction, is caused by a lack of blood supply to the heart muscle. The lack of blood supply sometimes happens when blood vessels supplying the heart are blocked by a clot. Coumadin® (warfarin) lowers the chance of blood clots forming and helps the blood flow through the heart more easily.
